I’m an engineer by education with a Master’s degree, and I began my career in the IT and software development space, working for many years in India’s thriving tech industry. As part of my work, I often traveled—and somewhere along the way, I started carrying a camera with me to document those journeys. What started as casual documentation soon sparked something deeper. In 2009, I made a New Year’s resolution that changed the course of my life: I gave up my IT career to follow my true passion for photography and storytelling.

I went on to graduate from the New York Institute of Photography (NYIP), and since then, my work as a photojournalist and writer has been published in several respected media including National Geographic Traveler India, Discover India, The Hindu, and Deccan Herald. I’m a licensed artist with Getty Images and Shutterstock, and my photography has been exhibited both in India and internationally at salons and exhibitions. In March 2016, I was featured as a Student Success Story by NYIP, and today, I also contribute as a Guest Expert Writer for their blog.

Most recently, I worked as a Consultant Photojournalist with the Azim Premji Foundation till May 2025, where I chronicled COVID-19 stories across select Indian states—a project that was as meaningful as it was intense.

As the Founder of my venture, WIDER ANGLES, I play many roles—entrepreneur, photography mentor, tour leader, and educator. I conduct photography workshops and city photo walks, and I lead my signature photography tours called "Experience INDIA", which are curated expeditions for aspiring photographers from India and beyond.

From 2012 until the pandemic, I served as an external faculty and photography mentor at The International School of Bangalore (TISB). Over the years, I’ve also been invited to deliver workshops, talks, and panel discussions at schools, colleges, corporate forums, national galleries, and photography clubs—as part of employee engagement or skill-building programs.

I also take up commercial photography assignments in areas such as architecture, interiors, urban spaces, lifestyle, products, food, candid portraits, events, and real estate.

I’ve had the honor of serving on juries for photography competitions, and I enjoy being invited to give talks and webinars at forums, corporates, academic institutions, and clubs—both in India and internationally. Since 2017, I’ve actively participated in national and international photography salons and exhibitions, and my work has received awards and recognitions along the way.

Social causes—especially those involving children—are close to my heart. I dedicate some of my time to CRY (Child Rights & You), supporting their nationwide campaigns by creating photographic content to build awareness.

I'm a member of Youth Photographic Society (YPS), Federation of Indian Photography (FIP), and the Photography Society of America (PSA). In 2019, I also served as the Star Ratings Director for the PSA Photo Travel Division, where I reviewed and evaluated applications for photographic distinctions.
