A Considered Journey

​

Engineer by education and artist by choice.  My path into photography wasn’t linear. After a Master’s in engineering and a decade-long career in the IT industry, a stint at IISc and ISRO, I found myself  drawn—more and more—to documenting the world around me. 

 

What began as a personal exploration soon became a calling. I later went on to graduate from the New York Institute of Photography.

Today, I’m a professional, photographer, writer, mentor and faculty of photography at an international school.  Over the years, I graduated in photography from NYIP and received five distinctions in this field with more than 100+ features have been published in leading publications such as  Travel + Leisure, Discover India, National Geographic platforms,  newspaper and journals.​ But more than recognition, it was the process of "waiting and seeing" that stayed with me.
 

Over the years, I’ve wanted to show people a more intimate, lived-in India — its people, traditions, cultures and stories. That led me to create and lead Experience India Journeys — small-group journeys that bring together my love for travel, photography, people, culture and the traditions of India that make every place unique.​​ Today, I lead 'Experience India Journeys', and conduct photography workshops and Bangalore photo walks. 

 

I also spent four years working as a photojournalist with Azim Premji Foundation on a project about Covid-19 warriors - "Chronicling Covid-19 in India: Through the eyes, ears and feelings of people on the ground."  I created seven short documentary films on their struggles as a tribute, from across three states (available on Azim Premji University channel)
