Experience Tamil Nadu

A Culture, Heritage & Photography Tour

July 10-12,  2026 [2N/3D]

The Great Living Chola Temples stand as extraordinary testaments to the architectural brilliance and cultural grandeur of the Chola dynasty, built over a thousand years ago and still alive with meaning today.

These masterpieces — the Brihadeeswarar Temple of Thanjavur, the Airavatesvara Temple of Darasuram, and the Brihadeeswarar Temple at Gangaikonda Cholapuram — represent the pinnacle of Dravidian temple architecture, with their soaring vimanas, intricate carvings, and remarkable engineering. More than monuments, they continue to shape the cultural landscape of Tamil Nadu, surrounded by living traditions for centuries — such as, Tanjore paintings,  Bronze casting, Silk weaving, Veena making, and classical dance.

Complementing this heritage is the serene Pichavaram Mangrove Forest, one of the world’s largest mangrove ecosystems — a labyrinth of waterways and reflections that offers a quiet, immersive connection with nature — a striking contrast to the stone grandeur of the temples. This region is also the birthplace of Sir Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose legacy continues to inspire the world of Mathematics.

Come, experience Tamil Nadu. Experience India.

TESTIMONIALS

"From start to finish, the journey was enriching, immersive, & truly memorable."

"I recently had the incredible opportunity to be part of 'The Chola Trail' Photo tour led by the talented & insightful Hema Narayanan. The experience was enriching, immersive, and unforgettable.

Hema brought history alive with her deep knowledge, storytelling flair, and genuine passion for Chola art, architecture, and culture. From grand temples to artists homes of hidden traditional art like Kalamkari, bronze statue making or  Veena-making - every place we visited was thoughtfully contextualised. Her eye for detail and ability to connect the past and present made the journey feel like a beautifully curated story, not just a tour.

As a professional photographer, she effortlessly provided hands-on photography guidance, practical tips for both DSLR users and phone photographers. Her workshop helped us capture the essence of the trail with a more creative eye. If you love history, art, photography—or simply want to explore Tamil Nadu beyond the usual tourist trail I wholeheartedly recommend, 'The Chola Trail". Hema is more than a photo lead; she’s a cultural ambassador, and an inspiring travel companion. I can’t wait to join her on future journeys.
