Having remained unchanged since 1927, except when parts of it has to be redone, due to a fire that broke out, Russell offers a bit of many characteristics. You get to see this pace when we go there. With a striking architecture at the entrance in the form of St Mary's Basilica, it has a Masjid and a Hindu temple at two other ends – a confluence of traditions.
The market, has shops selling everything from antiques to second-hand goods to vegetables to dry fruits to a bustling poultry /meat market – not to forget the scrap metal market.
